Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP Announces an Antitrust and Consumer Fraud Investigation on Behalf of Owners of VW, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Mercedes, and BMW.

Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP (“Kessler Topaz”) is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of certain German Luxury car owners (VW, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Mercedes, and BMW) and lessees related to a potential conspiracy among German automotive manufacturers to unlawfully increase the prices of German Luxury Vehicles.

Kessler Topaz’s Investigation

Specifically, Kessler Topaz is investigating whether certain manufacturers shared commercially-sensitive information and reached unlawful agreements regarding technology, costs, suppliers, market, emissions equipment and other competitive attributes in violation of antitrust and consumer protection laws.

On July 22, 2017, The New York Times reported that Germany’s high-end carmakers face a potentially destructive new scandal after European antitrust authorities disclosed that they were looking into allegations that Volkswagen, Daimler and BMW colluded illegally to affect the prices of crucial technology, including emissions equipment.

In a statement, the European Commission partially confirmed a report in Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine that said the authorities were investigating evidence that representatives of the automakers met regularly to agree on technical specifications for everything from brakes to clutches to emissions systems.

If you own or lease a VW, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Mercedes, or BMW (2012-2017), and would like to learn more about our investigation, please fill out our online form, or contact us today at 888-299-7706 or by email at [email protected].
