GENERAL MOTORS COMPANY INVESTIGATION FOR UNLAWFUL TARIFFS

Kessler Topaz is currently investigating potential claims on behalf of individuals who purchased General Motors Company (“GM”) 2026 vehicles.  Specifically, our investigation is related to the costs associated with President Trump’s International Emergency Economic Powers Act (“IEEPA”) Tariffs, which have been declared unlawful by the U.S. Supreme Court.  The costs of these unlawful tariffs were passed on to vehicle purchasers in the form of increased MSRP and/or destination fees. Despite collecting/continuing to collect the increased MSRP and destination fees, GM stands to receive $500 million in IEEPA Tariff refunds and has not indicated an intention to return these funds to customers.  Further, there is no mechanism for vehicle purchasers to receive refunds from the government for the unlawful IEEPA Tariff amounts they paid.
