First National Bank Cash Sweep Investigation
Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP is investigating whether certain brokerage firms and banks may have failed to properly manage customers’ uninvested cash balances through their cash sweep programs.
Specifically, customers who elected to have uninvested cash in their brokerage accounts placed into a “cash sweep” account may have been harmed if their brokerage firm placed those funds into lower-interest accounts despite the availability of accounts offering higher interest rates. Such conduct may constitute a breach of fiduciary duties owed to account holders.
Kessler Topaz is currently investigating the following banks and brokerages:
- First National Bank
- F.N.B. Wealth Management
