Defective Processing Chip

Investigation of Potential Action on Behalf of PC, Laptop, Server, and Cell Phone Owners Equipped with Certain Processing Chips

Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP (“Kessler Topaz”) is investigating a potential action on behalf of PC, laptop, cell phone, or server owners equipped with processing chips from the following manufacturers:

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD)
Qualcomm
ARM Holdings
Nvidia Corp.

On January 3, 2018, Reuters reported that a design flaw has been found in microprocessors made by Intel Corp. that requires updates to computer operating systems…adding that the fix causes the chips to operate more slowly.

On January 4, 2018, Reuters further reported that “[s]ecurity researchers on Wednesday disclosed a set of security flaws that they said could let hackers steal sensitive information from nearly every modern computing device containing chips from Intel Corp, Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and ARM Holdings.”
