Job Description

The Associate is responsible for providing legal support within the Global Shareholder Litigation Department, based in the Pennsylvania office. The position involves substantial legal research and writing, contributing to strategic case development, and regular interaction with institutional clients and other stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively within a small team on multiple complex international shareholder actions. 
  • Conduct extensive legal research and writing on issues both within and outside the United States. 
  • Research and compile evidence on various corporate and non-corporate legal structures. 
  • Develop and execute litigation strategies, including document collection, organization, and case tracking.  
  • Communicate routinely with institutional investors, custodian banks, and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Highly organized self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision and meet competing deadlines.
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and a consistently positive, composed demeanor.
  • Ability to learn on the job and successfully integrate guidance and feedback.
  • Knowledge of, or demonstrated interest in, international and comparative law is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in or advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar in good standing (or eligibility to waive in).
  • 1-3 years of legal experience.  

Work Environment /Physical and Mental Demands

  • Position operates in a professional office environment with regular computer and telephone use.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of case files and related materials (up to 15 lbs.).
  • Requires the ability to analyze large volumes of information and data on a daily basis.
  • Work hours may exceed 40 hours per week based on client and court demands.
  • Occasional travel by car, train, or airplane may be required.
  • Reliable internet access is required for remote work.
