Investigation of Potential Action Concerning Citigroup Inc. Credit Card Holders

Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP is investigating a potential action on behalf of certain Citigroup, Inc. (“Citigroup”) credit card holders who may have been harmed by Citigroup’s failure to lower interest rates for Citigroup/Citibank credit card accounts.

Alleged Wrongful Conduct

On February 23, 2018, Citigroup announced that it failed to properly reduce annual interest rates and overcharged 1.75 million credit card accounts. These higher interest rates were applied to existing balances, increasing those balances at a faster rate than normal. Citigroup/Citibank credit card holders may have been harmed by increased balances, increased fees and/or negative effects on their credit scores, which are calculated, in part, based on credit card balances.

Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP is investigating whether credit card holders who missed a payment and carried a balance were harmed by Citigroup’s actions.
