Kessler Topaz is investigating a potential consumer class action lawsuit against Shields Health Care Group (“Shields”), a Massachusetts-based medical services provider specializing in MRI and PET/CT diagnostic imaging, radiation oncology, and ambulatory surgical services. Shields operates more than forty facilities in Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire.
On March 28, 2022, Shields became aware of a cyberattack that took place on March 8, 2022. Finally, on June 7, 2022, Shields announced that the data breach may involve the medical information of up to 2,000,000 people. The impacted data includes: names, dates of birth, addresses, Social Security numbers, diagnoses, billing information, insurance numbers and information, medical record numbers, patient IDs, provider names, and other medical or treatment information.
