Kessler Topaz is currently investigating potential claims on behalf of individuals who purchased General Motors Company ("GM") 2026 vehicles pertaining to unjust enrichment tactics and for violations of state consumer protection statutes.
Specifically, our investigation is related to the costs associated with President Trump’s International Emergency Economic Powers Act (“IEEPA”) Tariffs, which have been declared unlawful by the U.S. Supreme Court, in the form of increased MSRP and/or destination fees. Despite collecting/continuing to collect the increased MSRP and destination fees, GM stands to receive $500 million in IEEPA Tariff refunds and has not indicated an intention to return these funds to customers, and there is no mechanism for consumers to receive refunds from the government for IEEPA Tariff amounts they paid.
