Kessler Topaz is investigating claims against Ford Motor Company and Lincoln Motor Company related to potential fire risks in certain Ford Expedition (2015-2017) and Lincoln Navigator (2015-2017) vehicles.
Specifically, Kessler Topaz is investigating reports that (2015-2017) Expeditions and Navigators are equipped with defective front blower motors, which can catch fire. In documents provided to authorities, Ford says it is aware of twenty-five such fires, including twelve reports of extensive vehicle damage, three reports of damage to nearby structures, one report of damage to a nearby vehicle, and one reported hand injury. Customers whose vehicles caught fire reported that they first noticed fans not working, a burning smell, and/or smoke coming from the vents while the vehicle was turned on.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently announced a recall of 198,000 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs due to the risk of interior fires. Kessler Topaz is concerned that this potential defect may pose significant safety risk to the driver, occupants, as well as damage to personal property.
