Overview:

The Investigative Research Analyst is a highly-motivated and tenacious team member in the Investigative Services Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Support a team of highly-trained Investigators through vast amounts of research
  • Work across various mediums, using a number of tools, to research companies and individuals for cases
  • Handle confidential background and due diligence investigations
  • Manage large case load and Attorney requests in a dynamic, pressured, and constantly changing environment
  • Work closely with team members to ensure full support of high priority requests and cases
  • Assist on all special projects as a key component of the Investigative Services Team.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Must have the ability to work from home (stable home internet connection)
  • Able to quickly demonstrate or acquire a superior and diverse investigative research skill set
  • Able to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment and possess team-player attributes
  • Able to quickly develop a thorough knowledge of background and due diligence investigations

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Jr. Paralegal works with a busy group of Attorneys and Paralegals.  This role is an opportunity for entry level paralegals to be trained by skilled paralegals in complex litigation. 

Responsibilities/Training Areas:

• Interface with attorneys, legal assistants and other counsel.

• Perform investigative Internet research

• Assist in the preparation and filing of documents including, but not limited to, court pleadings     and legal correspondence 

• Assist with trial, hearing, and deposition preparation, as necessary

• Draft legal documents and correspondence, and review and check all documents for accuracy  and compliance with court rules 

• Conduct Bluebooking, heavy editing and proof-reading of documents

• Provide administrative support including calculating deadlines, maintaining attorney schedules, and maintaining legal databases. Organize and maintain legal files and document review projects

• Complete discreet research assignments using LEXIS and/or Westlaw

• Research and track relevant litigation and news

Qualifications

Education Requirements: (experience will be considered in lieu of education)

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Paralegal Certificate or Certified through NALA or NFPA

• Candidate must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Experience with legal database software like PACER, the Federal Court filing system, LEXIS and/or Westlaw a plus

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Relativity and Document Review a plus

• Trial prep experience/exposure preferred.

The Jr. Research Analyst assists the Firm in monitoring corporate and market events to identify situations in which legal claims may be made. The role includes performing discrete research projects as well as competitor monitoring at the direction of the Director of Financial Research & Analysis.
