Edward W. Ciolko, a partner of the Firm, concentrates his practice in the areas of ERISA/Fiduciary, Antitrust, RESPA and Consumer Protection litigation. A respected and versatile litigator, oral advocate, and negotiator, Ed is involved in every aspect of the cases he manages; including, when necessary, leadership motion practice, appellate briefing and argument, and working closely with bankruptcy counsel. Ed is also a longtime member of the firm’s case evaluation group and recognized as a uniquely avid and dogged researcher.
Before coming to Kessler Topaz, Ed worked for two and one-half years as a Law Clerk and Attorney Advisor to Commissioner Sheila F. Anthony of the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”). While at the FTC, Ed reviewed commission actions/investigations and counseled the Commissioner on a wide range of antitrust and consumer protection topics including, in pertinent part: the confluence of antitrust and intellectual property law; research and production of “Generic Drug Entry Prior to Patent Expiration: An FTC Study,” and an administrative complaint against, among others, Schering-Plough Corporation regarding allegedly unlawful settlements of patent litigation which delayed entry of a generic alternative to a profitable potassium supplement (K-Dur).
